At Summit AP, we don’t just help students overcome barriers - we prepare them to reach new heights.

Summit AP is a specialist Alternative Provision offering a focused, supportive, and challenging programme for secondary-aged students who need additional help to re-engage with education. With places limited to just eight students per cohort, our provision ensures highly personalised support, strong relationships, and measurable progress. At Summit, every young person is seen, valued, and given the tools to succeed. Our mission is clear: to provide students with the academic skills, personal resilience, and real-world experiences they need to make better choices, grow in confidence, and take their next steps with purpose.

What Students Can Expect

Small Cohorts, Intensive Support
Students join a placement within a group of no more than eight peers. This deliberately small group size allows for tailored support, close mentoring, and the strong relationships needed to achieve lasting change.

Placement durations may vary depending on the needs and context of each student, ensuring flexibility and the right level of intervention.
Academic Intervention

Full reading and numeracy assessments for every student, with detailed reports shared with schools.
Delivery of Functional Skills or equivalent qualifications in English, Mathematics, Digital Literacy, or Sport, all awarded by NCFE. These qualifications are regulated by Ofqual in England and recognised by Qualifications Wales and CCEA in Northern Ireland, ensuring they meet national standards. They are trusted by employers, educators, and key sector bodies across the UK for quality, relevance, and impact.
Expert teaching in key aspects of the PSE curriculum, supporting better decision-making, personal responsibility, and resilience.
Flexible Placement Options

Summit AP offers schools and local authorities two placement models:
Three-day placement
(Monday–Wednesday)
Two-day placement
(Thursday–Friday)
These options allow schools to select the provision that best complements a student’s existing timetable, while still ensuring access to high-quality intervention, enrichment, and support.
