I’m a Senior Leader with over 15 years of experience in Secondary Schools and Sixth Forms, specialising in behaviour and student development. Since starting my teaching career as a PE teacher in 2009, I’ve had the privilege of working with so many young people, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding and enriching journey.

I hold post-graduate qualifications in Educational Leadership and I’m a fully qualified SENCO, having completed the National Award in SEND Coordination. I’m also a proud member of the Chartered College of Teaching. Over the years, I’ve led whole-school improvement in behaviour and attitudes, helping to shape positive cultures, student experiences and meaningful changes to Ofsted outcomes.

Since my best football days are behind me, my passion for the outdoors, hiking, and mountaineering has grown enormously. I’ve climbed some of the UK’s toughest peaks and reached altitudes above 3000m in the French and Swiss Alps. For me, the outdoors offers a rare space to reflect, reset, and grow — values that sit right at the heart of what we promote at Summit AP.

Outside of school, I’m one of only two representatives from Education who sit on the Youth Justice Board for County Durham, and I serve on the Management Committee at The Woodlands, Durham’s Local Authority PRU. These roles allow me to play a small part in shaping support for some of the most vulnerable young people in the region.

I bring unwavering effort, energy, and motivation to helping students re-engage with mainstream education. Supporting every student to reach their potential is something I take personally, and for me, education isn’t just a job — it’s a vocation that means making a real difference in young lives.

Please take some time to explore the information on our website, including our pledge, to get a better feel for what we hope to achieve at Summit AP.

Remember, ‘nothing is given, everything is earned’.
